Velidhu Island Resort, just 80 kms from Male, built on 19 acres, has 80 beach bungalows and 20 “over-water” bungalows. An island atoll of this size naturally allows you imagine that the sea and the sand belong exclusively to you. They do.
A scenic 25 minutes sea-plane takes you to Velidhu Island Resort. The journey itself is an event no doubt, but it will not prepare you for the wonders that await you. With the sea at your doorstep, you will have everything you want in a by-the-sea vacation. Romantic getaway island though it is, Validhu offers you all the comforts, the little things that make a visit a holiday to cherish. When you need a break from the water or the sand, you can allow yourself to be entertained by cultural shows, or kick your heels at the disco. In between, you can savor mouthwatering dishes at the restaurant or allow the kitchen staff to pamper you with their special meal events such as Mongolian BBQ, lobster dinner on the beach, among other specialties.

- Airport Transfer:
Transfer time between the airport and the resort is about 25 minutes by Seaplane. Speed boat transfers are only available for groups of 10 or above. Due to the location of the island night transfer is not provided at the moment.

- Accomodation Overview
Velidhu has 80 beach bungalows built a couple of meters away from shoreline. All bungalows overlooking the sea feature air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-bar.
The Water Bungalows are some of the most luxurious accommodations of this holiday resort. The resort has a total of 20 'over water' bungalows where one can stay during their vacations in this place. They are 16 water bungalows and 4 water villas with a private jacuzzi.

The 80 Beach Bungalows at Velidhu are designed to a single story structure and are located just beside the beach. These rooms open out to the garden area with lush palm trees and pristine footpaths leading the way to the beach.
The Beach Bungalows in the resort are well decorated and is done up in neutral tones which adds to the tranquil atmosphere inside the bungalows.
Each of the bungalows are equipped with all the modern amenities that are designed to suit the needs of the modern day traveler. All the bungalows are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. The rooms has a well stocked mini bar. The rooms have huge comfortable beds, which are either queen sized or king sized.
The bungalows are extremely comfortable and offer an intimate atmosphere to the guests.

With direct access to the pristine white sand beach, spacious Beach Bungalows with Pool feature a secluded deck with an infinity plunge pool and a gazebo. Lush foliage, colourful bougainvilleas and mature palms create a garden setting, giving each bungalow maximum privacy.

The main restaurant serves daily, breakfst buffets, delicious cuisines and international theme nights for dinner. The Beach Grill BBQ by the beach serves prime cuts of meat and succulent freshly caught sea food. The Light House Bar offers a variety of liquors, wines, cocktails, fruit juices and an experience of culinary delights only on offer, at Velidhu Island Resort.
Guests on all-inclusive plan are offered fullboard meals, snorkeling equipment, a selection of alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, 1 excursion during the stay.

A pristine location encircled by its own coral reef for divers and snorkelers to enjoy. The shallow lagoon enclosed by the reef serves as a large natural swimming pool, with a colourful array of marine life.
Velidhu is close to some of the best dive spots on the Maldives. Mantas, Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, great untouched coral reefs making the diving around Velidhu to an unforgetable xperience.

At the Water Sports you can indulge in various sports activities in the surrounding area.
Windsurfing
The breeze and the wind movement and the large lagoons that surround most of the islands are ideal for windsurfing. At the water sports center you could take instructions and lessons for windsurfing. Like the diving school water sports center is well-equipped. Most of the time the condition is suitable for beginners.
Water Skiing / Wake Boarding
We have our own skis and wake board for rent on per hour and round basis. We have instructors available to give you lessons.
Catamaran Sailing
This is a very relaxing and refreshing sports enjoyed by the visitors. It is always possible to embark on a new adventure sailing on the beautiful blue waters of the Maldives. Endless stretches of deep blue Indian Ocean waters awaits you, and the lush green islands dotting the horizon in thousands would tempt you to continue sailing foreve.

Manta Safari
Manta Ray, sometimes referred to as the "Butterflies of the Sea", these graceful animals are a sight that must been seen in person. Manta rays are beautiful sea creatures that live in warm tropical waters. Their side fins have evolved into wide triangular wings with which they use to "fly" through the water. Theses wings range from 4-20ft, making them amongst the largest sea creatures anywhere. Manta's are one of the most fascinating and stunningly beautiful sights.
Manta Rays have NO stinger and are completely safe to be around. We invite you to experience the thrill of a lifetime...a snorkel with these angels of the Ocean.
Once a week we go by Dhoni (traditional Maldivian boat) to near by reefs in search of manthas so you can experience the beauty of these angels.
Dolphin Safari
Spot the most amazing animal in the sea...Maavaru Thila is just 45 minutes away from the resort and you will be able to see the dolphins very closely.
Snorkeling Safari
The diversity of marine life and the crystal clear waters are visible up to 60 metes. Once you are here the call of the ocean becomes irresistible.
What else can be the best areas for Snorkeling other than the reefs! Around the island this is often referred to as the 'house of reef'. The slope features cliffs, terraces and caves which makes quite exciting. As you go down deeper the changes in the coral and other marine flora is conspicuously visible. Along with the smaller fishes which frequent the reef flats you have the chance of seeing the larger ones which sometimes come close to the reefs to feed.
Hop on the dhoni in the morning and visit the open water reefs of north ari atoll. We will take you to three best snorkeling places, each one with it's own special characteristics.
In a simple glimpse in to the crystal clear blue waters you can surely see a stealthy sting ray or a gracious black tip reef shark. Now imagine the possible creatures that you could encounter when you are snorkeling in our magnificent reefs.
The equipment required for Snorkeling is available at the resort for rent if you are not an all-inclusive guest. There is no need for you to bring your own equipment. From depths starting from one meter onwards, you have an eyeful of marine creatures.
Full Day & Half Day Island Hopping
Half Day - Visit a local fishing village for a glimpse of the Maldivian way of life, shopping and see the historic places, boat yard with traditional fishing dhonies (local boats).
Full Day - A perfect trip if you want to discover the Maldives. We will hop one island to another. First stop will be a local island for sightseeing and shoping. The second to a stunning desert island where we will set up a picnic lunch and snorkeling trip. Last will be a nearby resort just to see the island and relax with a drink in the bar.
Night Fishing
At sunset take a dhoni to closer reef and fish for Red snapper and mainly reef fish in true Maldivian style using hand-reel line.The catch will be served in the buffet the next day for dinner.
Deep Sea Fishing
Getting up in the morning might be difficult but the experience you have is unforgettable. Leaving the island 05.30 am and enjoy the sunrise while fishing for Wahoo, Marlin, Sailfish and many more.
