Maldives Game Fishing Association Launches Website

The site has been designed to grow with the Association, which while in its early days, is set to be a leading voice for sports fishing in the country. The timing of the new site’s launch could not be better, with the MGFA now opening its membership for the first time. Anglers, resorts and operators can now join as full or associate members with a special, low membership fee on offer in 2011. The membership application form can also be found on the website www.mgfa.org.mv under the Association Membership tab.

Anglers can register their interest in competing in the Challenge online through the home page, and resorts and operators taking part will have their boats profiled through the competition pages. Important links to weather, MMPRC, international game fishing rules, the MGFA’s constitution and more are already available through the site.

Other news will also be posted regularly, including an upcoming training program for boat crews competing in the November Challenge. With the event being a new fixture on the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) calendar, local captains and crews will need to be conversant with IGFA rules. An essential training program to be conducted by the MGFA in conjunction with IGFA representatives, will take place 13 and 14 July in Male.
