- Property Overview - 
Meeru Island Resort, fondly known as Meeru by friends, offers a relaxing casual atmosphere. A large island by local standards, much of the island remains untouched, with its natural vegetation intact. It is certainly the resort for you if you would prefer to kick off your shoes and enjoy a casual atmosphere in which to relax. The island is covered in soft white sand. The floors of the reception and other public areas too are layered with soft sand. As you approach the island you will be surprised at the lack of any man-made structures visible through the thick vegetation of the shoreline, fringed with tall coconut palms. Winding walkways lined with palm trees lead you to the reception with its thatched roofing that blends in perfectly with the natural surroundings.
However you do not have to be a diver to enjoy Meeru. There are a variety of other water-sports and land sports that you will certainly enjoy. None of this is important if you wish to take part in the most popular holiday activity here - relaxation. The island is large enough for you to find your own private little hideaway on the beach for the day. Or simply find a perch at the popular poolside and spare yourself the effort.

Meeru Island Resort is on the island of Meerufenfushi located at the easternmost point of North Male’ Atoll. Located some 50 kilometers north of Male’ International Airport it is away from the rest of the resorts in the atoll. Meeru offers comfortable transfer to and from the airport by speedboat. Inside the comfort of the cool air-conditioned cabin watch the islands pass by as it speeds through North Male’ Atoll.

- Airport Transfer:
Transfer time between the airport and the resort is about 60 minutes by speed boat. A compulsory night transfer supplement is applied for transfers which starts before 0830 hrs and after 1500 hrs. This will depend on your arrival and departure flight times. Please confirm the rates before booking.

These wooden chalets, all facing the beach offers a degree of privacy; each room is an individual chalet. The 138 chalets are laid out around the island, all facing the beach, some pentagonal others rectangular. All have a separate dressing area with luggage rack, wardrobe and dressing table. The verandah in front of each furnished with deck chairs, is ideal for relaxation or to catch up on your reading. Inside, the chalet rooms are spacious and airy. A ceiling fan whirls gently, and the room has a sitting area by the full window overlooking the veranda. A bed and side tables with Tiffany-style reading lamps add a touch of class. The en suite bathrooms are spacious and fully fitted and feature an enclosed open-air garden.

- Jacuzzi Beach Villas - ( rooms / units)
Jacuzzi Villas are Land Villas with a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”, a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade Pavilion, and a small tropical garden. All are newly refurnished and with a four poster bed, a CD player and cable TV.
They are made of pine and are are rectangular in shape, they have an outside veranda with 2 sun lounges and 2 deck type chairs (with your room number stencilled on so you can leave them on the beach) they are the same inside with pine furniture, dressing table and soft cushioned chairs all have a separate dressing area with luggage rack, wardrobe and dressing table.

The Water Villas are set right on the edge of the beach with entrance from the back of the chalet and a private verandah facing the sea and over water sun deck leading from it. Set on the eastern side of the island it is ideal the rooms offer an excellent view of the sea accompanied by the sound of waves crashing continually on the atoll reef a kilometer away. For early risers these are ideally located to view the golden sunrises each day. And if you decide to cool down, steps from the sundeck lead you right into the shallow waters. Inside the pine wood lined rooms, a big comfortable cane bed awaits at the end of the day, or if you want to relax before turning in, a sitting area with armchairs and coffee table are provided. Enjoy the natural warmth of a wood floor underfoot. A discreet white tiled, partially open bathroom where you can shower next to a little garden, adds the final touch of style.

- Honeymoon Suite - (02 rooms / units)
These two over the water suites are the perfect place to really get away and enjoy a honeymoon is splendid isolation. Separate from the island and reached by a small boat, the luxury offered is unbeatable. As you step in the door, a cosy sitting area with kitchenette lies to one side. A big comfy sofa and armchairs invite you to snuggle up and listen to the music on the CD player. A big fridge, toaster and coffee maker allow you to make yourself the odd snack.
On the other side of the entranceway lies a dream bedroom with a big four poster, dressing table and wardrobe, and leading off is a spacious bathroom with bathtub, WC and wash basin. Clean white tiles with pine trim add a touch of class. All the bungalows face the sea and have French windows leading on to a spacious sun deck and patio overlooking the lagoon. No other people in sight. Watch the fish swim underneath your bungalow at night, or step down and join them for a moonlight swim.

No fuss dining, just good food is the order of the day at Meeru. No dressing up to impress. Just stroll in from the beach or from your room and sit down and enjoy. The only house rule is, no wet suits or wet clothes are allowed in the dining area.
There is one restaurant, two coffee shops and three bars where you will find everything you want, and at all hours of the day. So just continue to have fun and there'll be plenty of food on offer just when you want it.

- The Farivalhu Restaurant
The main dining room, with traditional sand floor, serves “all you can eat” buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for Meal Plan guests; and as well, three “optional” a la carte restaurants.
A tall sloping roof with cooling fans buzzing in the rafters. All meals are buffet, with the menu changing every day. A comprehensive breakfast is available to fuel up divers for the day ahead. Lunch and dinner buffets offer a wide selection of different kinds of food, salads, pastas, meat and fish, as well as a good sweet and fresh fruit selection. Vegetarians and people with special dietary needs can also be catered for, but they should let the resort know beforehand.

All equipment necessary for diving or snorkeling can be rented at the dive centre. The equipment is checked, serviced and replaced regularly insuring that everything is always up to date. The spacious wet room allows individual storage of both rental and personal diving equipment.

Meeru is surrounded by a big, beautiful lagoon. There is no typical house reef and so all dives are boat dives. The lagoon is home to a great variety of marine life, with interesting coral formations and colourful fish life in shallow water. It is perfect for snorkelers and for diver training.
