This is an idyllic private island retreat, a haven of charm and elegance, only 100 meters wide and 500 meters long, with attractive sugar white sand banks on both ends.
The island has got a beautiful turquoise lagoon all around the island and a magnificent house reef with superb snorkeling. The vegetation is tropical with a beautiful 40-year old coconut plantation as highlight. Komandoo is perfectly situated in a channel opening, which makes it very interesting for divers and snorkelers.
You never know what to expect when entering the waters, Turtles, Mantas, Sharks or Rays. Sitting on the "Kandu Bar" terrace, You often see a school of dolphins playing as they pass by.

The excursion trips. These offer you a range of possibilities for venturing out for a change of scenery. You may visit resorts close by or catch a glimpse of the daily life of Maldivians in one of the fishing villages. For those who wish to test their skills at fishing a variety of fishing expeditions are also organised. Excursions are organised on a weekly or twice-weekly basis. However these are subject to weather conditions and a minimum level of participation by the guests. Komandoo is a haven for a relaxing holiday. Keeping in line with this theme, the evenings' entertainment is purposefully programmed to be low key, light and enjoyable- the only exception being the disco evening once a week. This too depends on whether you like it or not.

Komandoo ProDivers is a 5-star PADI Dive Center. The base leader Tom Mehli and his team with many years of diving experience around the world and in the Lhaviyani Atoll will guide You to possibly the best diving you have ever done.
On Komandoo Island Resort in Lhaviyani atoll you will find the latest ProDivers dive center. Komandoo ProDivers is a PADI 5-Star Dive Center and offers the possibility of an excellent diving holiday. We offer modern equipment, excellent facilities and a variety of dive courses. No additional cost for Nitrox diving.
More than 40 dive sites are located in the area around Komandoo. All dive sites are within reach in 10 to 45 minutes by boat. Boat trips are available everyday of the week - mornings and afternoons. Full day, early morning, and night dive excursions are organized regularly. Independent day and night diving is available at the house reef that is located close to the beach all around the island. The house reef has four exit and entry points and the two jetties on either side of the island lead you right over the reef edge.
All diving education is conducted within the PADI standards and instruction is available in German, English, Spanish and French. The PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver course starts every week. Other courses are conducted on a request basis. For specialized courses it is advisable to send in your requests before your arrival. Specialty courses like Shark Diver, Marine Protector, Equipment Specialist, Marine Biologist, Drift Diver, Night Diver, UW Photographer are available.

Maldives is known internationally as one of the world’s best dive destinations. A large number of excellent dive sites, including marine-protected sites, are located near the Resort and transfers are carried out by specially equipped dive dhonis. The Resort operates its own Dive Centre, licensed by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). A multilingual team of dive instructors offers courses for beginners and advanced divers, as well as leading daily dive trips. Underwater photography and videography services are also available.

- Snorkeling
The house reef of the island is excellent for snorkelling. However you may wish to see more of the underwater wonders that the Maldives has to offer. With this in mind the ProDivers Dive Centre organises snorkelling excursions. This excursion takes you to two or three different reefs selected from amongst the many dotted around the resort. There is a wide range of trips & tours to choose from; live your dreams on a deserted island for a day, a snorkel safari or visit a nearby local cultural island. Join the luxury sailing yacht “Britt” on a day-cruise or perhaps a sunset cruise.
- Land Sports & Fitness Facility
The island resorts in the Maldives are not only for the sun lovers and not many would like the idea of just eating and lying around. Komandoo offers a variety of water and land sports and activities and there are a few water sports like canoeing and wind surfing which are offered complimentary to all guests. For the regular gym enthusiasts the resort also offer a small gym with a multi-station workout machine and bicycles. Other sport facilities includes badminton, table tennis, volleyball, darts which are available at the game room.
- Evening Entertainment
If you would rather have a quieter evening- which would obviously be reflected from the level of activity on the dance floor- the show ends. The rest of the entertainment inclines more towards the romantic. The 'Champagne Evening' or the 'Candlelight Dinner' would certainly provide lots of romantic moments for the memories. Just for a laugh and some fun the resort also features 'animation' and bar games, from time to time, when your talents and participation may also be called upon.
