The island of Landaa Giraavaru is in the Baa Atoll of the Maldives. There are a variety of islands with historical and cultural significance that are within 30 minute speedboat ride from Landaa Giraavaru. Take 30-minute boat ride to Kendhoo Island and visit the 12th century house of Abul Al Barakat, the scholar who converted Maldives from Buddhism to Islam. The neighboring island of Kudarikilu which is a 15-minute boat rides away provides a glimpse into Maldivian island life. Visit the island's village school, local mosque, and discover thunda kunaa, the traditional craft of mat weaving.

Occupying the entire 18 hectare/s 44 acres of the island of Landaa Giraavaru, the Resort is a stunning paradise hideaway where luxurious seclusion meets wild natural beauty. It comprises 102 thatched beach bungalows and water villas. The bungalows and villas which are built on traditional Maldivian architecture with its 45 degree pitched thatched roofs and coral walls offer an abundance of indoor and outdoor living space. The entry level of accommodation is the Beach Bungalow which comprises a living and dining pavilion that opens onto a private beach front garden and a sleeping pavilion with a lounge area and dressing room. Located along a double-loaded jetty off the northwestern end of the island, these villas are perfectly positioned for viewing sunrise or sunset.
* Water Villas with Pool feature a 53-square-metre (570-square-foot) deck overlooking the pool, with access by spiral staircase to a furnished sea-gazing loft.
* The air-conditioned living/dining area is glass-fronted and features comfortable sofas.
* A bedroom, adjacent to the living room, is also glass-fronted, creating a double-width glass façade for taking in the views. The resort exemplifies excellent service and world-class cuisine. Overlooking the swimming pool and beach, the three thatch-roofed pavilions of 'Cafe' Landaa' appear to float above the sapphire waters on the north shore of Landaa Giraavaru.
'Blu' located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2-kilometre (1.2-mile) lagoon, 'Blu' embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky.
'Al Barakat' named after Abu Al Barakat Yusuf Al Barbari, a North African scholar who made Baa Atoll his home in the 12th century.

- Blu
Located on the western tip of the island overlooking the 2km lagoon, Blu embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky. Blu consists of a bar and a dining pavilion, separated by a shallow pond. The restaurant offers a European buffet and a la carte main courses for breakfast, light Antipasti, pizza and pasta for lunch, home-made gelati at the poolside nearby and elegant Italian dining in the evening. The wine list includes a fine selection of Italain wines.
- Al Barakat
Adjacent to the main jetty and spectacularly perched over water, Al Barakat features specialities from Arabian countries, with an emphasis on Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine. The Bar on the ground floor overlooks the sea with magnificent views of the sunset and abundant marine life at the adjacent coral reef. It is the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks. A stairway leads to two rooftop dining terraces with cosy niches decked with colourful cushions. Lebanese mezze, grills, Moroccan couscous platters and stews are served under a canopy of stars. After dessert, guests can move down to the bar to enjoy Arabic tea, Turkish coffee and Shisha pipes.
- Café Landaa
The all-day dining restaurant, CafE Landaa, overlooks the swimming pool and beach and comprises three thatched pavilions separated by reflecting ponds, and a separate private dining room. For breakfast, guests can look forward to exotic fruits and juices, freshly baked pastries and a home-style buffet set-up of Asian and Continental selections. For lunch and dinner, feast on the freshest haul from the ocean cooked in various interesting styles.The Sushi and Teppanyaki counter, located in a dramatic water garden setting of the restaurant, provides an authentic Japanese dining experience. The popular theme nights maffy a culinary experience with colourful entertainment.
- Barbecue Fuego Giraavaru
Located next to the seawater pool overlooking Kudarikilu Kandu (the channel), Barbecue Giraavaru offers fresh catch of the day as well as a wide selection of meats, salads and side dishes. Opens for lunch and dinner; seats 32 outdoors.

- Five Degrees North
The Resort's main bar, named for the island's location five degrees north of the Equator , is located on the first floor of Reception building amidst coconut treet-tops, and has a commanding views over the entire island. Featuring a counter fashioned from a local dhoni, the nautically inspired bar also serves Maldivian 'Sae Bon' afternoon tea and has a library, pool table and selection of boards.
- Sunset Blu Bar
In the casual sand-floor setting of Sunset Bar, enjoy exotic juices, tropical cocktails or a refreshing young coconut. As the sun sets, an aperitif or glass of sparkling Prosecco is the perfect prelude to an Italian dinner next door at "Blu". Seats 50.
- Poolside Bar

In-Room Dining at Four Seasons is a fine-dining experience within the comfort and convenience of your bungalow, villa or suite. Choose from an extensive menu throughout the day, featuring western and Asian favourites.
In addition to a children's menu, we also offer a complimentary infants' menu for children age three or under who have been introduced to solid food.
Special arrangements can be made for romantic beach and sandbank dinners, Robinson Crusoe picnics and private parties of any size.

A unique way to experience the Maldives and a wonderful complement to your land adventure at one or both of our Maldivian resorts, Four Seasons Explorer allows avid divers, water enthusiasts, nature lovers and 21st-century explorers to discover remote shores and rarely visited dive/snorkelling sites among the untouched reaches of the exotic atolls.
- Diving
Experience the thrill of diving under the close supervision of our PADI instructor. This three-hour course consists of a theory briefing and a confined water session of up to 12 metres (40 feet). Participants in this course must be over 12 years of age.
- Water Sports Centre
Complimentary snorkels, masks, fins, equipment for non-motorised water sports, such as sailboats and catamarans, and state-of-the-art windsurfing equipment are available at the Water Sports Centre. Motorised water sports equipment is available for rental. The Centre is open daily from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
- Snorkeling Excursions
Cruise by dhoni to a nearby coral reef and explore the underwater world with our resident marine biologist. On the way back, enjoy tea and snacks at sea while engaging in discussions about the sites with our marine expert. The excursion takes about two hours.
- Sunset Fishing
Sunset fishing - A line and some bait are all you need to participate in the sunset fishing experience. Catch one if you can, and our chef will be delighted to prepare it to your liking. The excursion takes about two hours by dhoni.

Tennis
Take a break from aquatic activities to practise your tennis skills or take lessons from our on-site tennis pro. The Resort's outdoor tennis court is lit for night play, and complimentary tennis racquets and balls are available.
Dolphin talk and dolphin-watching cruise
There are hundreds of dolphins in the waters near Landaa Giraavaru. Join our marine biologist for a short briefing on this fascinating marine animal, then hop on board a dhoni and watch schools of dolphins swim around you. The excursion takes about 1.5 hours.
"Marine Life" presentation by our resident marine biologist
The reef of the Maldivian archipelago represents one of the richest marine ecosystems on earth. If you are interested in learning more about the area's underwater life, the Resort invites you to a "Marine Life" presentation by our resident marine biologist.
The presentation takes place five evenings a week in the Five Degrees North bar and lounge. The next afternoon, enjoy a snorkelling excursion with our marine biologist – a unique way to discover the underwater world of the Maldives.
Sandbank picnic
Lunch on a sandbank! Our speedboat takes you across the atoll on a snorkelling and picnic excursion. Enjoy the beauty of a white strip of beach in the middle of the ocean, snorkel the wonderful waters amongst brilliantly coloured corals and fish, or simply relax under the shade of your tent while we prepare the picnic. This excursion takes three hours by speedboat.
Jogging
A leisurely jog around the island at dawn or dusk is one of the best ways to enjoy the refreshing island air and keep fit. Jogging maps are available.
