You can relax away the day on the beach, or have a go at diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and catamaran sailing. Scuba professionals and snorkelling enthusiasts will delight in the knowledge that the Bandos house reef is one of the many acclaimed dive spots of the Maldives. There are many exciting excursions to go on, which include island-hopping, Male' shopping, night fishing, and barbecues on the adjacent island of Kuda Bandos. If you wish to keep fit during your stay, the Paradise Club offers a range of fitness options from gym, tennis, badminton and even exotic massages.

- Diving
Dive Bandos has a fleet of up to 4 modern, spacious fibre glass dhonis, all equipped with life vests, First Aid equipment, DAN Oxygen kits and radio to enable communication with the dive centre and the island. The experienced and well-trained boat crew is always ready to help you in any way they can. All our staff are regularly trained in emergency first aid techniques.
The house reef here at Bandos, considered one of the best in North Malé Atoll, will certainly give visitors a glimpse of one the true marvels of the Maldives.
- Water Sports
The water sports centre at Bandos is staffed with professional who are highly skilled in their craft and are fluent in English, Japanese and German. Some of our most preferred activities include snorkelling, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, water skiing, parasailing, banana boat riding, wakeboard, knee board, fun tubes and canoeing. What’s important to note here is that this is not an exhaustive list and the possibilities are most certainly unlimited. The Water Sports facility here at Bandos also offer top notch catamaran and windsurfing facilities and boasts quality equipment such as Hifly, North-Sails and Topcats.

Our love for fishing should then come as no surprise, and Bandos is proud to share the Maldivian flair for fishing with our guests, particularly the art of baitless fishing. One needn’t be a professional as our team includes professional fishermen who will be able to assist you throughout the course of the entire trip. Geared towards this end is our state of the art vessel. A Prowler equipped with a fish finder, global positioning systems, radar and so forth.
Different types of fish are caught depending on the monsoon. The country experiences two main seasons, the South West Monsoon and the North East Monsoon. The South West Monsoon, which usually starts in May and continues until August, is the rainy season. However, given that these coral isles have an abundance of marine fauna, there hardly is a time when a trip fails to yield a good catch.
Night Fishing & Kuda Bandos BBQ
Your visit to Bandos Island Resort and Spa is not complete without trying your hand on the local pass time activity - FISHING. This is definitely a night to remember full of scenes and memories. Bait your hook, drop your line direct from a dhoni to the reef and hope for a nibble as you watch the spectacular colors of sunset and ocean waves lap the surrounding islands.
After 2 hours of fishing for your own supper, we prepare a delicious barbecue on the beach of Kuda Bandos. While you are waiting to barbecue your catch of the evening our staff will entertain you with spectacular bodu beru (local music with drums, rhythm and dance). After dinner you can just sit and relax with your loved ones on the white powder sandy beach to watch the glittering bon fire on the shore.
- Snorkeling
The coral reefs in Maldives are inhabited by diverse marine life and are teaming with colourful fish. Snorkeling is the easiest way to enjoy the beauty found beyond the lagoon. Please wear adequate sun screen. Reef snorkeling takes place directly from the boat, and is therefore suitable for stronger swimmers. If you are new to snorkeling we suggest you begin it on the house reef or the reef at Kuda Bandos.
Please remember reefs are fragile ecosystems. Please do not stand, walk on the corals or reef. Do not try to take any souvenirs from the underwater world. It is not safe to remove corals as it may be even poisonous and may hurt your hands or feet.
- Land Sports
Indulge in a game of badminton, beach volleyball or tennis in the resorts flood-lit courts. The club even has its own swimming pool.
For those wishing to take it a bit easier the resort have billiards facilities. One can also lounge about in the resorts TV room which features major news, sports and entertainment channels. Also featured are table tennis and board games.
- Night-life in Bandos
The heart of the nightlife of Bandos is at the Sand bar, where two of the best Maldivian bands play twice a week and the popular DJ invites the guests to the dance floor to dance away the blues. Or try your voice at Karaoke in the bar. The Calypso Band performs daily during the evenings at the restaurants and coffee shop as well as the Sand Bar. Ask for your favorite song while you’re enjoying your meal. Listen to Maldivian songs in the Jukebox for a taste of local songs. In addition to night diving, night snorkelling and surfing.
- Kuda Bandos - Picnic Island
A shout away from the main island of Bandos is the uninhabited island of Kuda Bandos (literally meaning small Bandos) ideal for a private picnic on the beach or merely enjoying the sunset after a full day of snorkelling the reef or swimming in the clear blue lagoon.
Open throughout the week except Fridays, Saturdays and other public holidays, Kuda Bandos is the penultimate Robinson Crusoe experience.

Island Hopping
Hop on board a local mechanized dhoni and sail away across the North Male’ Atoll to explore the different types of Islands in the area. Snorkel or swim and take a nap while you top up that tan in our tropical paradise. Discover a local island and see Maldivians at work and experience their island lifestyle.
Visit a local souvenir shop; buy some thing to remember on the trip before we land on our own picnic island for lunch. The full day tour includes the picnic lunch on the beach on our very own uninhabited island of KUDA Bandos (Little Bandos). Half day tours start after breakfast and we return to Bandos for lunch.
Male Tour
Male’ tour is a unique. Perhaps Male’ is the smallest capital city in the world. Explore the streets of this tiny and unique island city through a guided tour by experienced local tour leaders. Watch the fisherman unload their catch at the bustling local fish market or wander the aisles of the colourful Maldivian consumable products at the local market. Learn about the history and culture of the Maldives by visiting places of interest in the city. Although Male’ is not the shopping capital of the world, you will find plenty of enthusiastic vendors keen to show you around their souvenir shops.
